Less than 3 weeks to go!

So the first batch of UK ICPers have been sunning themselves in the sunshine state for about 2 weeks now and I'm more and more jealous every day! Only 19 days to go though and I cannot control my excitement. I only have 1 exam left and it's about a week and a half away so I'm finding lots of time to procrastinate. I've been watching Hercules a lot.... It's my last shift at work on Sunday and it's going to be sad leaving even if it's only for 4 months. Ive bought a video camera so I can capture lots of magical moments, parades and general life out in Florida. I was home a  couple of weeks ago and began throwing different things in a case in an attempt to pack early (keeeeeen) but I'm yet to pack up my uni room at all which I should probably start doing as I move out next week. Going to Liverpool on Friday for a last meet up with the Disney people before some of them fly out on the 5th. It's only 5 days before me, but those 5 days are going to draaaaaaaaggg. I'm still yet to buy travel insurance which is very disorganised of me but nevermind, I've bought a cash card and loaded some dollars onto it so that's exciting. It's been lovely weather in Manchesterthe past couple of days but it just makes me even more excited to feel the Florida heat which will probably be twice the temperature here! Anyway I probably won't blog again until the night before I go so that is verrrrrrrrry nervracking! xxxxx

Welcome Pack, US Embassy and Excitement!

Sooo, haven't blogged in a while, been really busy with my new job and sorting out everything for Disney etc. A lot has passed since my last blog and it is only 58 DAYS until I leave for Florida. My new job's going really well and luckily funding all my preparations for Disney (which has been ALOT). I received the welcome pack at the start of March and it contained all sorts of important documents and also a Disney "Look Book", as well as my welcome letter which was very cute. I booked my visa appointment as soon as I received my pack for the 10th April 2012 and I would be travelling down to London with my Mom on that day. I picked that day in particular as it would be the 2 month mark so I thought it would be quite appropriate. On the day I had to get up at 4.45 (yawn) as I was catching the coach because the train prices to get there for 11am were ridiculous. In all honesty the coach wasn't too bad, I was able to sleep for a while on it so it passed pretty quickly. I got to the embassy in London at 10.30am for my 11am appointment. In my opinion I really don't think the time of your appointment matters, I would just get there as early as possible to save long waits. I waited about an hour for my first interviewy thing, which was basically just signing sheets and handing over my documents/passport etc. I was really worried because 2 days before I had cut my finger on a bread knife at work, and it specifically says when you book your appointment that if you have cuts or blisters on your fingers, the embassy will have to send you away because it won't be possible for them to take your fingerprints. But luckily I had my fingerprints taken fine and that all went smoothly. I then had another hour wait for my second (and proper) interview. It took all of 30 seconds. But at least my visa was granted with no problems! YAY! It all seems official now, but I still don't think it's properly sunk in, I don't think it will until I'm actually on the plane. We also had a Liverpool meet with the Disney gang about 3 weeks ago which was brilliant! Everyone seems so nice and it made me even more excited. This is a really long post so I'll stop now. I've got lots of uni exams coming up so I'm not really sure when my next blog will be but hopefully it will be soon!

Surprise Visit!

Hola! I had the best news the other day, my Mom and Stepdad Rob are coming to visit me in Florida! After initially saying they wouldn't be able to I was obviously shocked and very, very happy! They originally booked for the week of 4th of July, but after some frantic research I told them to change, so now they're arriving on July 7th and leaving July 14th. Luckily, as I will be a cast member, family members and friends (up to 3) get free entry into all 4 Disney parks for 6 days and discounted hotel stays. It's 30-50% off Disney hotels, depending on certain dates and holidays, etc but it's definitely a bonus to working there! The main worry I had about the 4th of July week is that it's going to be horrifically busy and they won't be able to make the most of the experience because the queues for rides will be so long. But I later found out that family passes for some parks are blocked on 4th July and days either side, so to go that week would be a total waste of time. So I'm very happy its been changed and it'll be nice to see their faces after being so far away for a month. No more news on my trip to Disney though, 145 days to go. I feel bad wishing my life away, especially as it's my first year of uni, but I literally cannot help it. I also am obsessed with both The Princess and the Frog and Tangled, they seem to be the only films that are able to get me through revision!
Ciao for now x

P.S. Found this piccie on simpledisneythings.com, and it reminded me how excited I am to do this!

153 days and counting!!!

Hey guys, so this is my first blog and I'm very excited to be starting it! At this point all I've done information and paper-work wise is my Criminal Background Check, which required me to pay £60 and fill in a very dull form. It was a lovely christmas present to myself. But I've also booked my flights and I'm happy to say that I will be leaving on the 1115 Virgin Airways flight on 10th June 2012! How exciting! I've also found two of my "moving buddies" for the plane which is nice so I won't be on my tod. Saved up lots of money over christmas and I'm hoping to buy lots of Florida clothes with it in the sales. I should be receiving my Disney pack in a few months which is going to be fun! It does seem like it's ages away, but with exams and uni work it should go really fast. I'm also starting a new job soon at Jamies' Italian in Manchester so hopefully that should take my mind of Disney for a bit! There's lots of talk on our facebook group of hoodies being made for all the ICPers (Internation College Program) which is just lovely, makes me feel a part of something haha! I'm currently trying to create a Bucket List for Disney so I don't have any regrets, so watch this space!
